Half an Inch of Rain falls in OC

It’s beginning to feel more like spring. After a long and chilly winter, yesterday’s temperatures sprang upward accompanied by rain, reports Official U.S. Weather Observer Barbara Wilson from her weather station at Hickory Hollow Farm in Walhalla. “Last night, rain started at 9pm and then at 10pm and 11pm but after that I’m not sure. I didn’t record any thunder here. It may have been somewhere in the area, but the Walhalla Weather Station recorded .50, exactly half an inch of rain. Our high for yesterday was 75 and the low was 49.” Wilson and her family, the Brandts, have been recording the weather from Walhalla for the National Weather Service for over 100 years. They are the longest active weather watchers and volunteer reporters for the National Weather Service.
