Heat Advisory Effective This Afternoon

A Heat Advisory is in effect for our area from noon to 7 PM EDT today. Heat index values are expected to reach up to 108°F. This advisory includes parts of northeast Georgia, piedmont North Carolina, and upstate South Carolina. High temperatures and humidity may lead to heat-related illnesses. To stay safe, avoid leaving children and pets in unattended vehicles, drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned space, avoid direct sunlight, and check on relatives and neighbors.
