Help solve Unsolved Cases in OC

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is committed to solving every crime that occurs in the Golden Corner of South Carolina. The public is being asked to help solve nine unsolved cases, explains Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Jimmy Watt. “If you go to our website at www.oconeelaw.com and this is something we did over four years ago. I sat down with Captain Greg Reed of the Criminal Investigations Division and we profiled nine unsolved cases. Some of those cases at that time were just a few years old, some of the cases now, even some of those cases back then are now more than five years old, and some go back as far as 30 years. Many of the unsolved cases unfortunately they involved homicides or in a couple of the cases where remains have not been found, we believe that foul play was involved. A couple years ago, Oconee County Sheriff Mike Crenshaw swore in Dean Brown. Sgt. Brown is our Unsolved Case Investigator. His responsibility is to continue to follow up on any leads in those particular cases. So once again, those families, the victim’s families, anybody, the general public, it doesn’t matter, so we can go before the victim’s families and we can go to the general public and say we solved this case, here is what happened. That is still our goal and always is for any case that we investigate, we want to know what happened, period.” If you have any information regarding these unsolved cases, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 638-STOP or 1-888-CRIME-SC. If your tip leads to an arrest, you could be eligible for a cash reward.
