Help sought in Vehicle Theft from the Westminster Area

Crimestoppers of Oconee County, Inc. and the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office seek the public’s help in its investigation into a stolen vehicle from earlier this month. A deputy from the Uniform Patrol Division spoke with the victim during the morning hours of Aug. 5, in regards to theft of a light blue 2008 Hyundai Sante Fe. The vehicle was reportedly stolen from the victim’s residence on Pump House Road near Westminster sometime between 6pm the previous day and when the vehicle was reported stolen to the Sheriff’s Office, which was just before 7am on Aug. 5. Another deputy from the Patrol Division responded to the area of Carver Road and Pickens Road regarding a suspicious vehicle later on in the day on Aug. 5. Upon arriving on the scene, the deputy observed a light blue Hyundai Sante Fe. The deputy confirmed with dispatch that this was the same vehicle that was reported stolen. Evidence was gathered in the investigation and the case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division but so far no arrests have been made in this case.
