Help sought solving School Burglary

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office seeks the public’s help solving a recent burglary that occurred at Fair-Oak Elementary School, tells Public Information Officer Jimmy Watt. “The Sheriff’s Office is also seeking the public’s help in identifying an individual in relation to the burglary. Deputies from the Uniform Patrol Division responded to the school address on Oakway Road (Highway 182) during the early morning hours of June 13, 2017, in response to an alarm activation. As deputies checked the building and property, they discovered a window open on the building and that entry had been made into the school. The deputies began an investigation and began to gather evidence with the assistance of the Crime Scene Unit. The deputies also notified a school official and an investigator with the Criminal Investigations Division. The school was then resecured. While inside, deputies observed where several cabinets had been opened. At this time, according to investigators, it does not appear that any items were taken but there was some damage to property inside of the school.
