Home Repair Loan and Grant Program to be explained in Westminster

A government program to help low income homeowners repair, improve, or modernize their houses will be explained next month in Westminster. City councilwoman Susan Ramey invites everyone to a 6pm Thursday evening, June 14, meeting at the Westminster Fire Department. A representative of the USDA, along with members of the Westminster PMPA Task Force, will be there to help homeowners fill out applications for grants or one percent loans. The Single Family House Repair Loans and Grants program also provides grants to low income elderly homeowners to remove health and safety hazards. To assist the process, interested homeowners should bring papers and documents that verify household income. In the case of applicants 62 years and older, bring property information such as evidence of ownership and insurance and mortgage statements.
