Homecoming Tonight at Bobcat Stadium

Seneca High School culminates its week long celebration of Homecoming tonight with a varsity football game against cross-county region rivals the West-Oak Warriors. Despite the big halftime show where a queen will be crowned, Seneca High School Varsity Football Head Coach Hal Capps says his team is focused on the Warriors. “It’s not for us. It’s for the fans, the graduates and the old faithful Bobcats. This is their night. Our job is one thing and that is win the football by playing extremely well.” In addition to focusing this week on beating the Warriors, the Bobcats have had to deal with the heat, adds Coach Capps. “The issue we had this week is the heat. Goodness gracious where is fall at, we are in October now and we are practicing in 88 and 90 degree temperatures. So, it has been an interesting week and we have had to battle through it. We’re sticking with a new practice schedule that we started about two weeks ago and our kids are liking it. We’re shorter, we’re moving faster and doing things quicker. They battled through the week.” Coach Capps anticipates more official water breaks will be called during the game. “I think tonight you’ll see a couple of water breaks by the officials. We had some last week and the previous weeks also. I think that is a good move, its good for the game and keeps kids from getting dehydrated during the game.” Bobcats fans will once again be needed in the stands tonight, concludes Coach Capps. “I think it is always huge and I think tonight inparticular with it being Homecoming there is going to be some guys that played here last year or five or ten or 20 years ago that are coming back for Homecoming. They want to get rowdy and pull for the Bobcats and I think it is going to really jack our kids up tonight.” Kickoff of the Seneca Bobcats versus the West-Oak Warriors is tonight at 7:30pm.
