Inmate Faces Additional Charges After Attempted Escape

Christopher Alonzo Robinson, 31, of Singing Pines Road in Seneca, faces new charges after allegedly attempting to escape from a jail cell in the Oconee County Detention Center while a deputy served a warrant on another inmate. According to an Oconee County Sheriff’s Office report, Robinson tried to flee when the cell door was unlocked, punched a deputy in the mouth, and was restrained by corrections officers near the exit. He is charged with attempted escape, third-degree assault and battery, entering premises after warning, and malicious injury to real property. Robinson remains in the Oconee County Detention Center with a total bond of $8,677.50.
