InnoVenture to host Clemson Summer Innovation Series

InnoVenture will host the Clemson Summer Innovation Series at the University Center of Greenville from 5 to 7pm June 24, July 29 and Aug. 29 with faculty and students joining featured presenters to provide insight on the development of ideas. On Monday, June 24, the featured presenter will be John Ballato, Clemson professor of materials science and engineering and director of the Center for Optical Materials Science and Engineering Technologies (COMSET). Ballato will discuss COMSET’s efforts to provide a framework for faculty with common interests to collaborate in developing advanced materials, devices and systems that generate, transmit, manipulate and utilize light. Michael Gara, director of technology management for the Clemson University Biomedical Engineering Innovation Campus (CUBEInC), will be the featured presenter on July 29. Located at the Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center Patewood campus, CUBE InC develops high-impact medical technology and devices. On Aug. 29, the featured presenter will be Gregory Pickett, associate dean of the College of Business and Behavioral Science. Pickett will discuss Clemson’s Masters of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship and Innovation (MBAe) program, a one-year intensive program where students begin with an idea, apply business principles and graduate with an MBA and market-ready business idea. A light reception will follow each presentation, and all events are open to the public. InnoVenture helps organizations that support people with big ideas, like universities, business accelerators and industry associations make introductions to constituents with resources.
