Jail named Defendant in Slip-Fall Case

The Oconee County Detention Center in Walhalla has been named in a lawsuit alleging a slip and fall incident at the jail.  The lawsuit was filed this week in the Common Pleas Court.  The plaintiff, Undre Randolph, alleges that on July 14, 2011, he tripped and fell on water in the hallway of the defendant, which is the detention center. It says the incident occurred as Randolph, while on crutches, crossed the hallway for outside recreation. The lawsuit described Randolph as a “temporary resident” of the detention center.  The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office operates the county jail.  The office declined comment on the suit and its allegations.
