Jazz ready to roll tonight in Seneca

The sound of jazz fills the streets of downtown Seneca tonight with another night of Jazz on the Alley, says Seneca Events Coordinator Riley Johnson. “It has turned into a machine. This machine starts every Thursday night at 6:30pm and goes until 9pm. The people are loving it, they are bringing their own chairs now and we have gotten a wide variety of entertainment. This week we have Sam Burchfield, who is just a great entertainer. He has been performing anywhere from New York to Miami, all over the country and I was able to land him one gig during the season, so it is going to be a very fun night.” Burchfield is a graduate of Seneca High School so Johnson expects a big crown tonight. “The response when Sam Burchfield is in town, all of the folks that went to high school with him that know him come out and support him. So, this Thursday night, weather provided, is going to be a great night, going to be a big turnout and we are excited about it.” No matter the weather, people have a good time, continues Johnson. “The great thing about it is and we have seen this, like last week, we had the rain come in around 8:30pm or something like that and everybody scattered into the businesses. That is what we have found out if it does rain, they just go into the businesses and eat there and shop there, so it is a good thing.” Jazz on the Alley is a free event every Thursday night, April through October, from 6:30-9pm on Ram Cat Alley in downtown Seneca.
