Keowee Elementary celebrating 100 Years

Keowee Elementary is proud to announce that it is celebrating its 100th year as a school.  Faculty has planned a 100th Birthday Celebration on the 100th day of school, which is January 30. The festivities begin at 9am with a school-wide assembly during which faculty will unveil the contents of an old time capsule and fill a new one. Former teachers, students, and staff will be present to help celebrate. At 10am, the entire student body will gather in the athletic field in the shape of the number 100. Volunteer and friend of Keowee Elementary, pilot Steve Haslup, will fly over and take an aerial photo of students and the school. Classes will celebrate on their own with academic lessons centered around the 100th day and the school’s 100th year.  The celebration will conclude with birthday cake for all in attendance.  The community is invited to the school on January 30 to celebrate 100 years of educating students in Oconee County.
