Kimbrell’s Donates Their Downtown Building To The City Of Seneca

(Seneca, SC)——–As 94.1 The Lake has been reporting today, Seneca City Council has given their approval for Seneca City Administrator Scott Moulder and Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander to sign a settlement agreement to settle the ongoing lawsuit between the city and Elford Haynes.

The settlement will pave the way for the city to take ownership of the old Harper’s Building in downtown Seneca.

The city also made news yesterday as an agreement was signed in which Kimbrell’s has donated their downtown building to the city of Seneca.  The Kimbrell’s building, according to Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander, is now in possession of the city.

Mayor Alexander was a guest on the Coffee Time program today and commented further on the city’s acquisition of the Kimbrell’s building downtown.

Mayor Alexander says the city has been pursuing the Kimbrell’s building downtown and there are lots of ideas and plans on what to do with the building, including part of the building being torn down and possibly opening things up from East North First Street to Main Street.

The Mayor says that there are some steps that have to talk place with that building, including a visit by a structural engineer.

The Mayor says that federal and state grant money is available and City Administrator Scott Moulder is working on that aspect, according to the Mayor.
