Large Crowd attends Celebrate Oconee!

A large crowd attended Celebrate Oconee! on Friday, Oct. 12, at Chattooga Belle Farm in Long Creek. Celebrate Oconee! was the county’s big sesquicentennial or 150th anniversary party with all proceeds benefiting Oconee Heritage Center (OHC) museums. OHC Director and Curator Leslie Hagerty said it was a great night. “Oh it was great. We had perfect weather. Everybody that had got a ticket came out, so we had probably at least 200 people there just enjoying some great music by The Wobblers. We had a great meal from Chattooga Belle Farm and we unveiled our official sesquicentennial sculpture, everyone loved it. So, it was a really good night and we raised a good bit of money for the OHC museums.” Guests were also encouraged to participate in the creation of an on-site collaborative painting.
