League Program to address Redrawing District Lines

The League of Women Voters of the Clemson Area, which serves the people of Pickens, Oconee, and Anderson counties is hosting a program to address the redrawing of district lines. Everything from Congress to County Councils has been hotly contested in a number of states with claims of gerrymandering, particularly racial or partisan gerrymandering. As we begin to plan for the next round of redrawing lines in South Carolina, legislators and public interest groups are looking at changes in the process that might result in more competitive elections. Join the League of Women Voters of the Clemson Area on Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017, to learn about how it has been done in the past and how it might be done better in the future. The moderator will be Holley Ulbrich of the League of Women Voters of the Clemson area. Doors open at 7pm and the meeting begins at 7:30pm in the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) in Clemson at 100 Thomas Green Boulevard in Patrick Square. The League encourages interested area residents to attend this program.
