Library thanking Volunteers this Week
The Oconee County Public Library System is saying thank you to its volunteers this week. Individuals that graciously give of their time to make the community a special place to live, work and play. Seneca Library Branch Manager and Oconee County Public Library publicity director Blair Hinson gives details. “This week is National Volunteer Week. Volunteers are very important to our library. We do a lot of things that we wouldn’t otherwise be able to do without volunteers.” Hinson is grateful to all the volunteers who assist the Oconee County Public Library System but especially one group. “The Friends of the Library, that is all volunteer and they do a wonderful job for us.” On Tuesday, the Walhalla Library Branch will close early to show its appreciation for volunteers, explains Hinson. “The Walhalla Main Branch will be closing early on Tuesday at 4pm because they are holding a special event for our volunteers, it’s sort of a 50’s themed dinner that they are having for the volunteers.” Special thanks to all the volunteers who make the Golden Corner shine bright.
