Lieutenant Governor to present Check to OC Veterans Affairs

The South Carolina Lieutenant Governor’s Office will present a $10,000 check on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018, to the Oconee County Veterans Affairs Office, explains Director Jerry Dyar. “This is a project that I’m thankful Senator Thomas Alexander and Darryl Broome with the Lt. Governor’s Office have cooperated on and gotten the ball rolling. Senator Alexander became aware of our Veterans Council Relief Fund in Oconee County. The project where by we help a lot of veterans who have fallen on hard times and their families. There is some funding that the Lt. Governor has available to help elderly folks and disabled veterans. The Lt. Governor’s Office made the announcement that they were going to present a check to us for $10,000 to help us help the veterans of Oconee County. So, they are coming up this Thursday morning at 10:30am for a press conference. We are very grateful and we think the citizens of Oconee County and our veterans would be very happy to hear this information.” The check presentation takes place at 10:30am in the Oconee County Veterans Affairs Office at 223 Kenneth Street in Walhalla.
