Local Barber lands speaking role in ‘Elbow Grease’

A local barber has landed a speaking role in the feature film shooting this month in Seneca and Oconee County.  Bronson ‘Hollywood’ Hawthorn, a barber at Cuttin Up Barber Shop on Ram Cat Alley in downtown Seneca tells about joining the cast of ‘Elbow Grease’.  “It is awesome.  I truly believe it is God showing me favor to have an opportunity in this community to be in something like this.  It is really amazing.” Hollywood Hawthorn gives details about his scene in the movie.  “You will see me when they are having a cookout at the beach.  Somehow, the main actor talks Burt Reynolds, which is the father, into letting him play flag football and he agrees with him.  We go out there and throw the ball around and end up hitting grandma, knocking a cup of wine out of her hand.” Burt Reynolds even gave him thumbs up during shooting, concludes Hawthorn. “It was nice.  I didn’t actually have a scene with him but as I was going out I yelled out to him that this was my first time going live on camera and he just gave me thumbs up.” The movie continues filming in Oconee County through the end of the month.
