Local Warming Shelters Open During Extreme Cold
Our Daily Rest in Seneca has activated its White Flag shelter, offering warmth from 8:00-10:00 p.m. at 525 East Main Street when temperatures drop below 36°F. HOPE Missions of the Upstate in Anderson operates a warming shelter November through March on nights below 38°F, and the YMCA of Easley, Pickens, and Powdersville provides heated spaces, hot showers, and charging stations during regular hours. College Street Baptist Church in Walhalla will serve as a shelter starting at 4pm on Friday. No pets please. If you have any questions, call the Oconee County EOC at 864-364-5911.
