LOVE WAS IN THE AIR DURING 2019 IN OCONEE

The spirit of matrimony fared well in the year just completed in Oconee County. And the numbers show that tying the knot under the aegis of Probate Judge Kenny Johns and his staff is still a money-maker for the county. The probate staff issued 562 marriage licenses, and the probate judges performed 240 ceremonies. Oconee County residents are charged $30 dollars for a marriage license and $25 dollars for a ceremony. Out of county residents pay $45 dollars for a license and $25 dollars for a county ceremony. June has the reputation for weddings, but in the fall, the month of October, saw the most licenses taken out.—63 of them.
