Lunney chosen to be House Museum Information Center

Seneca’s Lunney House Museum has been chosen to a prestigious position serving the Southeast Museum Conference, explains Seneca City Museums Director and Curator Dr. John Martin. “We’re about to embark on a new road, I like to call it, the Southeast Museum Conference has awarded the Lunney House Museum as the House Museum Information Center for the 12 state area. So, we will be getting to put together a new website for this and what we are hoping, or the plan, we are not going to hope we are going to plan for it to work, is we will be drawing tourism from the 12 states into Seneca and Oconee County. So, we’re quit excited.” The plan is to bring more people to the Golden Corner of South Carolina, continues Dr. Martin. “The whole idea is to have revolving tours; people coming here who like house museums and then we in turn have trips out. So, we are even having talks with Middleton Plantation and Biltmore.” The website is currently under construction, but Dr. Martin anticipates its release this summer.
