Man arrested for assaulting Police Officer

A Seneca man spent part of the Labor Day holiday weekend in jail for assaulting a police officer. The Seneca Police Department reports the arrest of 58-year-old Randy Edward Goodine on Saturday at an apartment on South Stribling Street. According to reports, Goodine allegedly punched an officer in the jaw knocking him to the ground. A second officer used his Taser twice to gain control and arrest Goodine. He was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center on a General Sessions Court bench warrant as well as the charge of assaulting a police officer while resisting arrest.
