Man Killed in Spartanburg Had Local Connection

A young man killed in a Sunday night incident on I-26 in Spartanburg County had ties to Oconee County. State troopers say the victim was Chris Campbell, 33 years old, husband of Emily Alysse Porter of Tamassee.

They say an eastbound white SUV hit Campbell and then left the scene. Campbell was a navy veteran and served in Operation Enduring Freedom, in response to the 9-11 attacks.

His business associate, Frank Campanaro, says Campbell served as president of Walhalla-based ADC – Advanced Defense Components, a maker of parts for the US Defense Department.
