Man sentenced for Attempted Robbery and Involuntary Manslaughter

Thirteenth Circuit Solicitor Walt Wilkins states that 21-year-old Angelo Horace Taylor pled guilty this week to attempted armed robbery and involuntary manslaughter. He was sentenced to 25 years in the South Carolina Department of Corrections by the Honorable Edward Miller. Taylor will have to serve at least 85% of the attempted armed robbery sentence before he becomes eligible for parole. Evidence presented by Assistant Solicitor Elizabeth Major established that on Dec. 5, 2015, Taylor approached the victim who was sitting in his vehicle, pointed the gun at the victim, and demanded his belongings. Taylor then fatally shot the victim twice in the torso. Taylor fled the scene, but was arrested later that day at an apartment complex. Police recovered the gun used in the killing just outside of the apartment where he was arrested.
