Management changes at OC Detention Center

The Oconee County Detention Center announces some recent management changes. After 40 years with the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office, Captain Steve Pruitt retired Friday, Aug. 10, as director of the detention center. His career included time as chief deputy during James Singleton’s years as sheriff. Succeeding Pruitt as director is Captain Gentry Hawk, who was the former lieutenant in investigations, and the new assistant director is now Lieutenant Cindy Williams, succeeding Lieutenant Mikal Fostervold who also retired.
