Manslaughter Suspect pleads in General Sessions Court

A late night stabbing in Seneca last summer took the life of 53-year-old Thomas “Tony” Mark. On Thursday, the man in whose home Mark was stabbed entered pleas in Oconee General Sessions Court. 56-year-old Donald Clark Walker was sentenced to seven years in prison after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter and distribution of crack cocaine. He had been charged with voluntary manslaughter, but that charge was reduced in agreement with the Seneca Police Department. During the course of the investigation, it was established that both the victim and the suspect were engaged in an altercation when the stabbing occurred. Walker will receive credit on his sentence for 286 days spent in jail awaiting trial.
