Mask Ordinances May Be Considered in Westminster and Walhalla

On Tuesday night the Westminster City Council will consider a resolution “…that citizens within and visitors to Westminster wear a mask or other face covering when they are unable to socially distance…, and the City of Westminster supports any business owners that desire to mandate the wearing of masks within their establishments.”

The Westminster City Council meeting will begin at 6:00 pm Tuesday evening.

While there is not yet a city ordinance in Walhalla, leaders are strongly urging everyone to wear a face covering when out in public in order to help slow the spread of COVID-19. The next regularly scheduled council meeting in Walhalla will be on August 18th, at which time such a law may be considered.

The City of Clemson and Town of Central have both enacted and extended ordinances requiring face coverings in public.
