Mayor excited about All-Electric Buses arrival

It will not be long now before electric buses roll into Seneca making the City the first in the country to offer all-electric public transportation.  Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander is excited about the buses rolling into the City.  “Next year, the electric buses are going to be rolling here in Seneca.  We are going to be getting four brand new electric buses.  We are going to be the first in the country that is going to be totally electric transit.  There will be two super chargers.  I can’t wait to watch it to see how it works.  These buses will actually fully charge in about eight minutes, so when they are on their routes they will at certain points will go to the super charger and it will charge the bus while the driver sits there.” Mayor Alexander sees great things in the future for the City and bus maker Proterra.  “Proterra, a company that is based in Greenville, they are really opening up to the world and I think you are going to see some great things happen here in Seneca.”  The new all-electric buses are anticipated to arrive in Seneca sometime in the first quarter of the 2013.
