Morton Trial re-scheduled

This week, a prosecution motion was granted by Seneca Municipal Judge Danny Singleton to delay the trial of the woman who was a passenger in the car on the night Zachary Hammond was shot dead behind a fast food restaurant. The charge of simple possession of marijuana against Tori Diana Morton has remained pending since the night of Hammond’s death, in the summer of 2015. Judge Singleton announced the new trial date is Monday, Oct. 29. Judge Singleton granted city attorney Bo Bowman’s motion to continue the case because subpoenaed state police officers were unavailable due to Hurricane Florence.
