Multiple Arrests in Larceny and Gun Case
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has arrested multiple individuals in a case involving larcenies at two separate locations, with guns stolen at both locations as well. According to investigators, officers were dispatched to 145 Summers Way on Thanksgiving Day in reference to a burglary. When officers arrived on the scene, the complainant informed them that someone stole multiple guns from his gun cabinet. The complainant told deputies that guns were stolen from his son’s bedroom as well. According to investigators, a grand larceny was reported on December 10th at 160 Cottontail Drive in Westminster. According to investigators, multiple guns, jewelry, tools, two guitars with cases and cash were taken from the residence. During the course of the investigation, deputies were able to obtain a description of two individuals, Andrew Lane Carver of Seneca and 18-year-old William Alexander Nelson of Seneca, who had been staying at the Cottontail Drive location as well as a vehicle description of the vehicle the two individuals were in. According to investigators, Nelson turned himself to deputies at the Sheriff’s Office and returned two of the weapons that were taken. Nelson has been charged with two counts of grand larceny and one count of first degree burglary. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the tools that were taken from the Cottontail Drive location were located at 7010 Morning Glory Drive in Seneca. A search warrant was obtained to search the residence and the tools, according to investigators, were found in the woods on the property. An arrest was made at the residence on Morning Glory Drive, as 20-year-old Austin Tyler Satterfield of Seneca, was arrested on charges of being an accessory after the fact. Deputies continued their search for Andrew Carver. According to investigators, arrangements were made through a member of Carver’s family to meet, however, Carver’s mom, 48-year-old Dolly Carver, contacted her son and notified him of the intentions of law enforcement. Dolly Carver was arrested later on obstruction of justice charges. As the investigation continued, officers discovered that Carver was staying in a room at Royal American Motor Lodge on Clemson Boulevard in Anderson. The Sheriff’s Office arrested Carver at that location with assistance from the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office. He was charged with two counts of grand larceny and one count of first degree burglary. During the course of the investigation, officers discovered that 19-year-old Angelo Marcos Menin of Seneca, had purchased some of the firearms from Carver and Nelson that were taken from the Summers Way location. Menin was arrested for accessory after the fact and for possession of stolen goods. Some of the weapons have been recovered and the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation.
