New Government Inspectors at ONS

Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials in Atlanta have announced new inspectors at Duke Energy’s Oconee Nuclear Station. Ed Crowe will serve as senior resident inspector, transferring from an identical position at Alabama’s Farley Nuclear Plant. Gregory Croon will serve as a project engineer in the Region II Division of Reactor Projects in Atlanta. At least two NRC resident inspectors are assigned to each operating U.S. commercial nuclear plant. They serve as the agency’s eyes and ears, conducting inspections, monitoring major work projects and interacting with plant workers and the public. Resident inspectors can serve at a reactor site for up to seven years.
