New Oconee Campus of TCTC is Unique

The new Oconee Campus of Tri-County Technical College (TCTC) is very unique as it is located in an industrial park offering students a quick transition from school to work, tells Director Tim Jared. “So that is one of the most unique things about this campus compared to some of our other locations. We are located in the Oconee Industry and Technology Park on Highway 11 and so we are out here a little ways and we want to make sure that people know where we are. Really the purpose of this facility is to be a partner with several entities. Some folks may know that Baxter Hi-Tech Mold, Carolina is already in the park with us. We have the beautiful new School District of Oconee County career center just starting construction. So, we are thrilled to see them get started there and that will be opening in the fall of 2020. So, a partnership with the school district and then also we have another manufacturing possibly coming in soon and hope to attract some others. So, really at the end of the day what we want to build out here is an industry park where someone can come in from high school, go to the career center, come straight into college, earn a degree and go to work all in one place.” To learn more about the college or to register for classes, visit www.tctc.edu.
