New Seneca Hotel drawing interest in Nearby Property

As the new Hampton Inn and Suites by Hilton takes shape on East North First Street, near the intersection of S.C. 130 and U.S. 123 in Seneca, the city anticipates it will lure new businesses to the area.  Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander is excited about the progress being made on the hotel and the economic impact it will have on the east end of the city. “Every time I go by there, there is always a big crew of people working and it looks like they are working seven days a week.  Project date is to be open in August by the first home Clemson football game.  It is a huge building and it is going to be a great addition to that end of town too.  We feel like it is going to make economic development in that area more attractive to lots of different types of businesses.  Hopefully when it gets built, we will be able to recruit some other business to come because there is still a good bit of land there that is undeveloped, so there is lots of potential in that area.  Being on that end of the city too we see lots of potential because it is near the University.” When competed, the new four-story Hampton Inn and Suites by Hilton will feature over 100 rooms.  The price tag on the new hotel is between $10 and $12 million. The hotel is expected to produce 38 permanent jobs in addition to the jobs related to its construction.
