New Veterans Legal Clinic in SC

On Monday, July 2, a new legal clinic opens at the University of South Carolina Law School to assist indigent and low income veterans in South Carolina with access to free legal services. Roughly 400,000 military veterans live in South Carolina. Some face challenges when returning to civilian life; from finding work, managing disabilities, to grappling with mental health consequences of their deployment. Those challenges often result in financial and legal issues that disrupt their ability to re-integrate into their families and communities. The School of Law’s Veterans Legal Clinic will offer free legal services that include financial and housing, estate planning, accessing public benefits, guardianship, divorce, custody and expunging criminal records.
