New Visit Oconee SC Signage coming Soon

Now with a new name comes signage for Visit Oconee SC, says President and CEO Ken Sloan. “It will be a slow process. Oconee County Parks, Recreation and Tourism Director Phil Shirley, Destination Oconee Manager Janet Hartman and I have been talking about this for a long time, long before we decided to re-brand the CVB. We’ll start replacing those signs with signs that are more meaningful because we have had people follow a waterfall sign, get to where they think it is, for some reason they can’t see it from the car and they get upset. So, we need to make them a little bit more meaningful, like you are at the trail head, it is a 30-minute hike to go see this waterfall and we want to add some levels of difficulty. Primarily we want people when they come in to see the signs that will lead them to a destination of their choice whether that is a restaurant, downtown, waterfall, chamber of commerce or whatever. We want some really good informative directional signage.” To learn more about Visit Oconee SC, visit their website at www.VisitOconeeSC.com.
