NGA TOUR ready for Mountain Lakes Classic in Seneca

The best young golfers in the world are in Seneca this week competing in the Mountain Lakes Classic presented by the Mountain Lakes Convention and Visitors Bureau at Cross Creek Plantation.  The Classic will feature a slew of the best up-and-coming talent in the country battling for the lion’s share of the $150,000 purse.  Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander is excited to have these great young golfers visiting the city this week. “We are very proud that Cross Creek is able to host that tournament here in Seneca.  What a great event.  It is 160 golfers, most have been here all week and some brought family memebrs, and they are one step away from the PGA.  So we are very excited to have them here in Seneca.” The field features several players with ties to the upstate. Former Clemson golfers Brent Delahoussaye and Matt Hendrix are in the field as well as past Coastal Carolina linkster Drew Ernst of Seneca. The first round of the Mountain Lakes Classic is scheduled to start at 7:30am on Thursday.  Admission is free and Mayor Alexander encourages everyone to go see this great young talent. “It is free to the public and you can go out and see these golfers that will be on the PGA one day soon.” The NGA Pro Golf Tour is the No. 3 Men’s Professional Golf Tour in the United States after the PGA TOUR and Web.com Tour and is the No. 1 recommended developmental tour by more PGA TOUR and Web.com Tour Professionals.
