No Outages reports Blue Ridge Electric

So far, so good for Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative, reports Terry Ballenger, Vice President of Communications for Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative. “I’m pleased to say that we don’t have anybody out of service at this time. We have not really experienced any storm related outages all morning. I think part of that is because of the fact that the heavier winter weather seems to be to the east of us. Oconee, Pickens and Anderson counties, we’ve had some precipitation but it has been relatively light, it has been enough to bring down any tree limbs and that sort of thing. As far as our members are concerned, certainly there is enough moisture out on the roadways that they could be treacherous with black ice and that sort of thing because the temperature has stayed below freezing most of the morning and there is going to be a hard freeze tonight. So, I think folks that get out on the road tonight or early tomorrow need to exercise real cation because I think the roads are going to be really slippery. If folks do see a power line down, we encourage them to let us know. If they have an outage, we encourage them to let us know. So, that we can get a crew out there to have a look at it. If lines are down, we just encourage folks to keep their distance. You never know if a line is hot or not, so it is just best to assume that it is and let the crew come in and address the problem.” To report an outage, call 1-888-BLUERIDGE.
