No Sales Tax this Weekend in SC on School Supplies

The South Carolina Department of Revenue announces that the Sales Tax Free Holiday is scheduled this year for Aug. 3-5. This annual three-day sales tax holiday takes place from 12:01am on the first Friday in August and ends at midnight on the following Sunday. During this time, the 6% state sales and use tax, and any applicable local sales and use tax, will not be imposed on clothing, linens, footwear, school supplies, computers and printers. In past years, South Carolina shoppers have saved over $2 million during the holiday weekend.
