Not as much Rain fell as forecasted for OC

Oconee County is taking a sigh of relief after the remnants of Hurricane Florence did not produce as much rain as forecasted for the Golden Corner of South Carolina, reports Official U.S. Weather Observer Barbara Wilson from her weather station in Walhalla. “For Saturday, we only had .14 that was Saturday over into Sunday morning. For Sunday, we had .41, which was close to a half inch. We were cooler though, on Sunday morning we were down to 73 degrees for a high and 69 for the low. We’ve only had about like half an inch, a little over half an inch, for the whole month.” Numbers may be different where you live, Wilson recorded these figures from her weather station, which is about a mile from downtown Walhalla. Wilson and her family, the Brandts, have been recording the weather from Walhalla for the National Weather Service for over 100 years. They are the longest active weather watchers and volunteer reporters for the National Weather Service.
