Numbers released for The First Great Oconee Clean Up

The numbers from this past weekend’s first annual The Great Oconee Clean Up have been released by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office. Over 200 volunteers turned out for the event on Saturday. Those volunteers picked up over 2,300 pounds of litter, which included thirteen tires and two mattresses. The Great Oconee Clean Up removed litter from a five mile stretch of Highway 123 from Clemson to Seneca. “I want to personally thank all of the volunteers, organizations, agencies, groups and all those who participated in the Great Oconee Clean Up. The organizers will be putting out a release this week that will list and thank all those who participated but we wanted to go ahead and release the final numbers today,” said Oconee County Sheriff Mike Crenshaw.
