OC Board allocates Emergency Funds

The Oconee County Board of the Emergency Food and Shelter Program has reviewed agencies that applied for the $29,264 funds issued to the county from Federal Emergency Management Assistance.  The agencies chosen to receive allotments of that money are the Oconee Presbyterian Service Fund to help with utility assistance, S.H.A.R.E. to help with rent assistance, Family Friends to assist with diaper distribution and Our Daily Rest for bed linen and cleaning supplies for shelter.  Four local agencies were also chosen to help fund food assistance in the community, Golden Harvest, the Salvation Army, the Golden Corner Ministries Food Bank and We Care Community Services.  These agencies will receive their allotments in approximately 90 days from the National Board of F.E.M.A.
