OC Board of Zoning Appeals Denies Permit to Build Storage Facility on Rochester Hwy

After a two and a half hour long meeting last night in Walhalla, the Oconee County Board of Zoning Appeals denied an application for a storage facility that would have been built on SC 130 – Rochester Highway. More than 20 nearby property owners spoke out at the meeting regarding the commercial facility, and ultimately the Board decided unanimously that the building did not fit with the intent of the county’s comprehensive plan, nor was it in the best interest of the community.
