OC conducts Emergency Training Drill

A training exercise involving an industrial chemical release was conducted on Saturday.  Oconee County Emergency Services held the training drill at the Propex facility at the corner of Shiloh Road and Goddard Avenue in Seneca. Emergency vehicles and personnel operated at the site between 7am and noon with the intent of the activity to execute response plans in regards to an industrial chemical release. Residents in the area may have received a text call from the Oconee 911 Center notifying them of the drill. This test call simulated the effectiveness of the Oconee County Emergency Services’ Reverse 911 system, which is used to alert communities in time of need.  Oconee County Emergency Services regularly conducts training drills in order to keep staff informed, prepared and alert.
