OC Ed Association donates $500 to Teacher Grants

The Oconee County Education Association recently presented $500 to the Education Foundation of Oconee County to help fund the teacher grant program.  Sherry Moore, President of the Oconee County Education Association along with Kathy Crain, past president, presented the check. The Education Foundation established the teacher grant program to encourage teachers to purchase non-consumable items that will increase student achievement in science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics, and service. Over the past six years, the foundation has awarded over $222,000 in grant requests.  The Oconee County Education Association is an affiliate of the National Education Association.  Members come from all over the school district and include teachers, support personnel, administrators, food service workers, instructional assistants, and other support staff who care about advocating for public education.  The Oconee County Education Association has recently been revitalized, and it is sharing its enthusiasm through making this contribution from its membership funds.
