OC Government Offices on Two-Hour Delay

With snow and ice on the roads, the Oconee County government offices will be operating on a two-hour delay today, Jan. 17, tells Oconee County Emergency Services Deputy Chief of Special Operations Scott Krein. “We have some road conditions that just warrant some precaution, so the county offices will be on a two-hour delay today. Let the sun come up, warm thing up just a little bit and make sure everyone is safe.” Chief Krein offers these winter weather driving tips. “We just want to make sure that people give themselves a little more distance, slow themselves down a little bit and just pay attention, the roads can be slick and stopping may take a little longer than normal.” Residents are being advised to stay home unless it is necessary to leave as roads are anticipated to be icy today.
