OC hosts Four Elections on Tuesday

Tuesday, Nov. 7, is Election Day and Oconee County will host four municipal elections, explains Oconee County Voter Registration and Elections Director Joy Scharich. “Tuesday we will be holding the city General Elections for Walhalla, Westminster, and the Town of Salem. We will also have the City of Westminster Special Election to fill a vacancy there. Polls will open at 7am and close at 7pm and voters need to have their valid photo ID.” Scharich tells where voters will cast ballots in the municipal elections. “Walhalla will vote at the Walhalla Fire Station, Westminster is at the Westminster Fire Station and the Town of Salem is at the City Community Center.” Election Day is an event that represents our rights and duties as Americans to participate in the democratic process of electing our leaders.
