OC Industrial Parks getting New Roads

New roads are planned for two of Oconee County’s undeveloped industrial parks. On Thursday, the Oconee County “C” Fund Committee approved funding for entrance roads at the Golden Corner Commerce Park in Fair Play and at the Seneca Rail Park, explains Oconee Economic Alliance Executive Director Richard Blackwell. “We’re very appreciative to the county “C” Fund Committee. Yesterday I met with them and they are supporting our new entrance roads at the industrial parks. So, at the Golden Corner Commerce Park we are going to finish the installation of that entrance road and then also at the Seneca Rail Park, which is a partnership between the county and the City of Seneca. The former Propex Facility has two tenants, it is pretty much full thanks to BorgWarner and Johnson Controls, but we are going to improve the entrance road to the land beside that building. We are going to work toward making that an industrial park, so again we are very appreciative to the “C” Fund Committee in supporting this en devour. At the end of the day, it is all about improving the market ability of these sites. People want to drive into this land to see what it holds and so they can see the lay of the land and by having these two entrance roads it will help us in or pursuits of getting new industry here.” Preceding the Seneca Rail Park entrance road connecting to Shiloh Road will be the removal of several acres of trees.
