OC not supporting Hospital Bond Issue

The Oconee County Council voted not to support a new hospital company’s application to issue bonds to refinance debt at their meeting Tuesday night. A requirement of the state agency issuing the bonds calls for local governing authority approval in each of the counties that are to make up the South Carolina Health Care Company, which brings together Greenville Hospital System and Palmetto Health of the Midlands. The Oconee County Council voted 5-0 in opposition to the bond issue.
