OC Parks full for Memorial Day Weekend

Several people will be camping in the Golden Corner of South Carolina this Memorial Day weekend. Every campsite in the county is reserved, says Oconee County Parks, Recreation and Tourism Director Phil Shirley. “This weekend we are full. There are no campsites available in Oconee County from our park system standpoint and I would venture to say probably the state parks and Corps of Engineer parks are full as well. But please if you are still wanting to go camping, go on to www.reserveamerica.com and type in your park to see what is available. We look for a busy weekend, depending on the weather and how it cooperates. We are just excited and we want everybody to be safe. We want you to plan ahead. If you are going out on the boat, make sure that your safety plan is in place and you know that you have life jackets for everybody, they are on when they are supposed to be and you have your safety protocol. But have fun, just plan and know what you are getting into that day.” To learn more about fun things to do in Oconee County, visit www.experienceoconee.com.
