OC Property Tax Bills are in the Mail

Oconee County property owners this week are opening their mail to find a bill with a due date of Jan. 15, 2018. By paying your 2017 real estate bill by that date, you avoid a penalty. More than 74,800 notices were mailed by the printer last week from Columbia. What’s different this year are the calculations resulting from a countywide re-assessment. But Oconee County Treasurer Greg Nowell expressed the hope that property owners will find that their taxes have not gone up from last year.
